This is Tommy, a 9 yr old beagle/poss hound mix, came into the clinic yesterday for euthanasia. His mother came down on some hard times and had to move out of her house into an apartment, going from 3 dogs to 1. Tommy had found a home with her brother, who lives up in the backcountry; however, the brother ended up with some issues of his own and can't keep the dog either. They brought him in for euthanasia because none of the shelters in the area could help him withouth shots and heartworm testing. I did a heartworm test and he came up positive, though he is asymptomatic. He has a great attitude and a beautiful smile. As of yesterday, he is up to date on vaccines - rabies, DAPPC, and Bordetella. He is good towards kids and didn't seem to mind the cat at the clinic, but he did have an issue with a white Shepherd that blocked his path.
