Venus needs a home - great older yellow labrador - Port Jervis NY

This is Venus. He was abandoned at the vet, then taken to Port Jervis Humane Society. Venus has been at the shelter for 3 months. He is very sad because he has been passed by many times, maybe because of the gray on his face? He wags his tail when potential adopters walk by, in hopes they will stop at his kennel and say “That’s the one I want!” but so far, that has not happened. He is very active for an 8 year old lab and very sweet. No cats please but good with other dogs and people. He weighs about 60 lbs, in good health and is neutered. He knows “sit”, is housetrained and walks well on a leash.
He has a winning personality and just wants to go to his forever home. Can someone please take him into rescue and help him find a terrific human companion?

Please call the shelter at 845-856-3677. If the phone is busy, keep trying to get through as they are very busy. Hours are Tuesday-Saturday, 10 AM-4:30 PM, Sunday 1-3 PM, closed on Mondays.

Bob needs rescue now! Senior Beagle at Ohio shelter - dogs are NOT walked they sit in cages 24/7

CONTACT:  Toni Kennett  tc4pets@yahoo.com
Bob is an older, sweet beagle who finds himself in a tiny rural dog pound where the dogs stay in their cages 24/7 until they are killed or rescued.  The pound does nothing other than put them on petfinder.
This area of Ohio has quite a few hunters - so at one time, Bob may have belonged to a hunter before he got too old.
Now Bob's only hope of escape from a dreary, deadend existence for the remainder of his life is for an adopter or rescue to take pity on him.
There is some pull and transport help available for this boy.
Senior Pets NYC will help pay for neuter for Bob.  Please don't let him die sitting in a kennel 24/7.

SAD NEWS - Reuben passed away at the shelter before he was rescued.

This is poor Reuben. Please look at the sadness and loss of hope in his eyes and crosspost him all over. He needs a home or a rescue.  He came into the shelter over a month ago- probably longer.  He came in already neutered so was someone's pet at one time. He's confused and scared. I've met this boy- thought it takes time for him to approach you he took treats from me as I sat outside his kennel and talked to him. He let me pet him and take him out on leash though he was so scared.   He needs a quiet place to be, will do ok with other dogs if they're calm.. He needs love and patience. He needs a Christmas miracle - a home or even a foster home. Needs out of the shelter.  There is no pull fee. He is up to date on vaccines and hw neg.
Please call Kim at the shelter 931 507 3647 or call Jamie after hours 931 409 2195. Jamie's email helpsavecats08@yahoo.com.  Reuben needs a loving home or rescue for the holidays.

Blossom a senior sharpei mix needs a loving home!! location OHIO

SENIOR ALERT!!!  Blossom - Shar Pei (mix)  Geauga County - Novelty, OH (bs)
Spend a little time with Blossom, the most adorable little old lady you will ever meet. Blossom is a 9-year-old shar-pei mix with a grey and white pattern. She is a little chunky, but that just means there's more to love! Blossom can be a little shy around others, so a home without kids or other dogs would suit her ve...
ry well. She is housebroken and calm as can be when you walk through the door of a long, hard day. Blossom is quite the little love bug, and was surrendered in the field to our humane agent. Now that she is away from a bad situation, she has been doing wonderful at Rescue Village and would love nothing more than to find a Forever Home just in time for the holidays. Will you give this polite little snuggler the happy ending she deserves?"
If you cannot adopt this loving dog, please consider becoming a cage sponsor. To learn more about the Meet Your Match (MYM) program, please contact us or see our Petfinder shelter page.

VA Beach senior Sydney Seeks Soul Mate adopter OR rescue!!

Sweet Senior Sydney! What a cool guy....Great older dog looking forward to the next chapter in his life. Long Sunday afternoon naps, a nice meal and some quality time with "his" humans. Not much to ask, right? Sweet Sydney has some skin issues on his rear quarters, but a bit of antibiotics and some good quality food should help out with that a ton (of course, a vet's opinion should be sought as well). Please consider giving this awesome dog a peaceful and loving golden years to remember. His days may be few, or many....shouldn't they be the best they can be? Come meet Sydney.  He
is not good with other dogs and needs to be an only pet.  Animals are now at the new shelter at 341 Birdneck Road.

18 year old lab mix dumped into shelter!!! owner just walks away

Just as our Lobby opened on Friday morning, a well appointed woman walked an elderly lab-mix through the front door.
"I want to surrender my dog. She's eighteen and has kidney disease."

Our Executive Director took the time to speak with her, reminding her how lucky she was to have had her loving pet for so long, and how hard it would be for the pet to face end of life issues in a strange environment.                          She offered to help her to the best of the Shelter's ability by providing specialty food, if only she would reconsider abandoning the dog. After ten minutes of discussion, Suzi was confident that the woman understood the importance of standing by her obligation to love her pet as unconditionally as it loved her.
Guess who's not going to be home for the holidays?
Fifteen minutes later, a staff member saw an unforgivable sight. In broad daylight, on busy Boca Rio Road, the woman had tied her dog to our fence. We immediately brought the dog in and provided K/D food and water.

When you visit our shelter, the faces you see in the Runs are those of happy, healthy dogs. Eyes bright and tails wagging in anticipation of a new home. Now we have a picture as heart wrenching as those you see on TV; the blank, demoralized face of an animal who has lost her life line, her person, her heart.

TriCounty Humane Society is meeting its mission to serve; "Animals Under Protection." "Friday," at eighteen years of age, is not homeless. She will have a home here for as long as she needs. In time, we hope the the tender love and kindness employed by our staff and volunteers will help make an impact of this poor, rejected animal. Soon she'll realize that she's not alone, and that she is loved. Friday will come to understand that while once abandoned, she will never be abandoned again. She'll always have a warm, quiet bed; healthy food; love and attention.

If you read this and something inside you says 'I want to make a difference in a shelter pets life' we invite you to join us in loving and caring for these dogs and cats until they can find their forever home. Even if that home is here.

Friday is available through our Foster Program. Please contact the Shelter if you would like more information. If you would like to help with her special needs, we are accepting donations of K/D food. The owner disclosed some medical problems, and we anticipate finding more after she's been evaluated by a veterinarian.
You can make donations for Friday through our website www.tricountyhumane.org,or by mail or at the Shelter. You can call us at:561-482-8110.
Thank you.

11 year old maltese needs rescue or home now white plains ny

Aria needs a HOME!!! She is a friendly dog. 11 years old with Cushing’s disease. Requires medication. (we would be willing to help with that expense, if necessary). Gets along well with other animals. Full disclosure: she is not house broken because her owner (my 82 year old sister-in-law now in a nursing home suffering from Dementia) never walked her. She is trained to use wee-wee pads.
I must stress that this is an urgent situation because my wife and I cannot take care of her.
Again, our thanks.

Biscuit Needs home or rescue now - 15 yr old JRT Greenville SC

Update - Biscuit is losing her temp foster, and is now BEYOND URGENT. She was staying in a cold outside kennel, but now she has nowhere!!! Please someone step up for her!! If you can help, please email LAURENBETHEA82@GMAIL.COM. This is Biscuit. She is 15 years old, spayed and heartworm negative. She has her tail docked and is only 15 lbs. She is very sweet and a total lover. I also believe she is housetrained. In the picture she has a mole on her eye but she no longer has that, it has been removed. Our vet checked her out and she is healthy and heart is good. The owner brought her in to have her put down because he didn't want her anymore. He has had her since she was a puppy :( We begged him to wait and we will find a place for her. She is also great with other dogs. If you can help, please email LAURENBETHEA82@GMAIL.COM.

Feebee and Cid need new homes in shelter since Sept.!

My friend Cid and I had a home but our owner left the door open, so we went out to explore the world. When we were done exploring, we found ourselves lost and even though we tried hard, we just couldn't find our way back home. So we ended up in the shelter on 9/20 and have been waiting to get reclaimed since then. I think that our owner has given up on finding us therefore we need a new home! We are both older dogs, around 8 years but happy and easy going. People say that I have the most beautiful eyes...kind of like a Husky! We are fine going to different homes, as long as we don't have to stay in this loud and crowded place we are at now. I'm house trained and good with children. I don't mind other dogs and I am very easy going. All I need is LOVE and affection. Would you please consider giving me a new home? When you adopt me, I will get micro chipped and all my shots will be up to date. Please come meet me and play with me...My ID# is 548655 and I am in run 21 with Cid and I weigh 27 lbs. When calling the shelter about a cat or dog, please use THE ID NUMBER, the names are oftentimes made up by volunteers. This beautiful pet and many others need a forever, loving home and are available for adoption from the Cobb County Animal Shelter, 1060 Al Bishop Drive Marietta, Georgia 30008, call (770) 499-4136 for more information. Jasper a 13 year old tuxedo cat needs new home!

Jasper is one big, gorgeous senior cat. A true lovey dovey of a feline, whose owner, sadly, recently passed away. Jasper only knew one human who gave him tons of tender loving care. Family relatives are taking care of him until a permanent home can be found. He's a very special feline -- his fur is gorgeous, and he loves to have it brushed on one of his special pillows and then given a big hug, lots of soft stroking and a yummy little treat. Jasper has a wonderful personality, but we think he will do best as the only cat in the household, as that is what he is accustomed to. To meet Jasper, please contact the Desmonds k347m@aol.com or email joansdogs@aol.com
