Adopt Shadow 8 year old flat coated retriever mix

My son agreed to foster this lovely lab mix in Cornwall, NY after her family dropped her at a local shelter, due to losing their home, where she was totally traumatized.

She's 8-9 yrs old.  BEAUTIFUL, in excellent health, bonds quickly, loyal, loves long hikes and playing w/toys.  One tiny issue is that she can occasionally nip/bite.  She's done so w/him 2 times since April.  We've seen a behaviorist and she felt Shadow has some "guarding" issues - not food, etc.  She's fine w/other dogs.  Don't know re cats.  Obviously shouldn't be w/kids.

I ran an ad and a lady adopted her.  We told her to go very slowly but after just a wk, she started grooming her and Shadow bit her.  She was returned to the shelter and once again, my son came to her rescue.  He adopted her but cannot keep her due to travel plans.

If you are a patient person and a dog experienced person and would like to meet Shadow, please email  elainesloan@nyc.rr.com  or call:  elainesloan@nyc.rr.com

all applicants will be screened and a home check is required.

Two cute bonded puggles need a home!

Two bonded puggles need home now.

hi .. meet Jack and Diesel.. 7 year male neutered puggles. They were given up because Jack did not take kindly to the new children in the household. They shared a home contently with cats but when the children arrived jack was not happy. They are very much attached the hip which is why the owner gave up both and not just jack. They are crate trained, and like being together in the crate, but as you can see they love to run together also. They could definitely do with loosing a couple of pounds, but as you can see they have the best of both breeds, as a pug.. they have great temperament and that cute curly tail, but as beagles the have the more pronounced snout so they do not have the breathing difficulties and facial and eye infection problems commonly seen in pugs. Puggles are really an excellent breed and quite hardy dogs!

thanks

Adopt Jake springer spaniel mix, owner dying - myrtle beach sc

CONTACT IS CINDY - cjbsam4@sc.rr.com

Jake's owner isn't doing very well, so time is running out.
Read more here: http://www.dogheirs.com/tamara/posts/2122-dying-man-s-last-wish-to-find-loving-home-for-his-best-friend

A 77-year-old man with Parkinson's disease, who was diagnosed with throat and lung cancer one month ago, has one dying wish: to find the best new forever home for his best friend Jake.

Jake is a 7-year-old chocolate lab and springer spaniel mix described as faithful, loving and a good boy by his dog walker, Cindy Bright.
Jake's owner isn't doing very well, so time is running out. Cindy was contacted by the owner's wife, just shortly before she passed away from lung cancer.
"I'd take him, but I already have 5 dogs," Cindy said. "His ideal owner would be a single woman with no children or no other pets," Cindy added.
Cindy said that she's posted information about Jake on Facebook for two weeks, but has had no luck finding a permanent local owner for Jake. Jake is currently located in Myrtle Beach, South Carolina.

Gus a 13 year old yellow lab needs new home or rescue - westchester ny

Hello.  My family is moving abroad in January and sadly, we have not been able to find anyone willing to take our 13 year old Lab.  This is incredibly sad for us be we cannot take him with us and don't know what to do.  Could you possibly post his picture and let me know if you know of anyone who might be interested?  He just had his senior wellness exam a couple of months ago.  He is fine (just old) and is up to date with all of his shots.  He's fantastic with children.  His name is Gus.  We live in Bedford Corners.  Thank you for any help you can offer.
email is adrienne@ivyessays.com  phone is: 914.506.1771
Simply getting to Costa Rica from our house will require over 10 hours in a crate, which I feel is cruel and traumatic.  I'm not going to pass Gus off to just anyone.  However, if there is a loving family here who would welcome him into their home, I feel that it would be best for him.  We are returning in 1 year so even if someone just chose to foster him, that would be great.
Pic is attached.  He is a 13 year old yellow lab.  He is up to date with all shots and had his senior wellness exam a few months ago.  He is very mellow and great with kids of all ages.  He takes one arthritis pill with his dinner.  It is simply added to his dinner bowl.  It is a $4 generic at Target.  He eats twice a day.  He needs a home without a lot of stairs leading to the first level.
Please let me know if there are other details required for the post.  Otherwise, I can answer any questions directly that a potential host family might have.
Thank you.

Gorgeous 7 year old female purebred chocolate labrador Snoopy needs a rescue or home - Rock Hill SC

Snoopy is a 7 year old female brown lab born in July 2005. She is AKC registered
and is a wonderful dog.
However, Snoopy is beginning to have problems with incontinence and
looses control of her bladder, and leaks where she is laying. This is
becoming difficult in the house. We have been to our Vet and his opinion
is that it has been too long of a period and no medication will prevent
or reduce this problem. Because of this I had decided to put her
down, and the Vet even supported me on my position. I would like to know
if there is somewhere Snoopy can go to live out her life. She is still
full of energy, enjoys going out in the morning and then jumping with
joy for a cookie. Other than this issue there does not seem to be any
other health problems that anyone can find. I wanted to see if you knew
of someone/somewhere that could take her and deal with this problem.

note: I spoke to her owner Christine. She is very open to rescue and does not
want to put Snoopy down.  the vet told her Snoopy is on the borderline for
cushing's.  Snoopy does not have access to go out when she needs to, there
is not dog door.  Rescue seems to be her only option now.  If you can help Snoopy, please email the owner at wjsilvonic@comporium.net or
you can email carrie@outtopasture.org who is also trying to help Snoopy get into a rescue.

Rescue or adopt 10 year old husky chained to dog house owner will surrender - W VA

I am writing because Toby, a sweet, good natured, 10 year old Husky needs a rescue to give him safe haven until he can get to a new home.
He is chained to a dog house 24 / 7.
The good news for this sweet fellow is that his owner has agreed to let him go to a new home. Now we need to find a safe haven for Toby.
His story is that he belonged to one man for the first 8 years of his life. I don't know how he was cared for by the first owner. I do know that he is not neutered and he is not up to date on his shots. The first owner was in the service and when he was called for an overseas tour of duty he decided to take Toby to a shelter. The current owner was a friend of the first owner, so he took Toby to save him from going to the shelter. The second owner paid attention to Toby at first, but then was called up for a tour of duty himself and has since had two children. This has all resulted in a miserable existence for Toby.
I am friends with the second owner's step-mother and she asked me to see if I could help find a new home or a rescue for Toby.
The weather is getting cold in West Virginia. Soon poor old Toby will have no relief from the rain, snow, cold days and nights.
Another rescue has offered to help with his medical expenses if we can find a rescue who will take him.
I think it would be best for Toby if I could go ahead and get him, get him vetted and ready for a new home. I am not able to take him to my home. I could potentially have him boarded for a week or two, if necessary. I do not know how he is with cats. He is not aggressive with other dogs or people.

Will all of you please network and see what you can do to help me rescue this poor boy? If we can get a rescue, we will arrange for transport to get him to a new home.

I live in Huntington, West Virginia and you can contact me at 304 544 5891,
 or email me at:  cproctorcross1@aol.com
Thank you in advance for anything you are able to do to help Toby.

Gorgeous Senior Chesapeake Bay Retriever for adoption -

For more information, please contact Celeste Ridgway at cr_ridgway@yahoo.com or his current foster mom, Mary Amoroso, atmary.amoroso@bipc.com.
This mature boy sounds as though he’d make an excellent family companion.
We’ve recently become foster parents to “Mr. Cool,” a wonderful Chesapeake Bay Retriever.  Mr. Cool is so mellow that the cats at the Ohio Valley Humane Society shelter would sleep on top of him when he stayed in their front office.
He was scheduled to be euthanized, so we agreed to foster him until a permanent retirement home is found.
Mr. Cool is a gentle soul – he is wonderful with other dogs (including my tiny Italian Greyhounds), cats, people and he especially adores children.

Mr. Cool is a senior (about 9 years old), neutered male Chesapeake Bay Retriever with a chocolate brown medium smooth coat.  He’s a happy, friendly soul with sad eyes in a very noble face, large jowls and soft, floppy ears.  He is quiet, housebroken and loves to go for walks.

Jewel and Dodger need rescue owner died - indianapolis IN

Jewel is 11 yrs old, a big Beagle mix weighing 55 lbs.  She trembles and shakes, and is so upset right now.  She will never pass our temp test and will need rescue ASAP!!!  She will need to shed several pounds, but is good on her feet, walks well on a leash. Quiet, calm but very much in need!!

Dodger is maybe Collie/Spaniel. 10 yrs. old.  Unaltered, very friendly.  He seems to be taking the shelter life much better than his sister.  He has spunk and "get up and go".  He does not have the weight problem of his sister, but still ready to be swept away by a rescue.

Please consider saving these 2 sweeties!!!

Adopt Titan, 7 year old staffordshire terrier lovely brindle coat

Titan is a Staffordshire Terrier who’s 7 years old. His name is Titan. He’s really the most loveable, affectionate, compassionate, and intelligent dog I’ve ever seen or had the pleasure of knowing! I love him dearly, but unfortunately I’m no longer able to care for him in the way he needs to be. I’ve been living in NY for going on 3 years and due to my work, my schedule is always very demanding and also a little random and unpredictable...but Titan and I have managed. I’ve recently been offered to do my work outside of the country and I’ll be leaving soon and unfortunately I’m not able to take him with me. I’ve asked family, friends, and had family and friends ask other family and friends if they know anyone who would be able to care for him, but literally everyone says they’re not able to take him in. I’m so terrified of taking him to a shelter or animal control because I know they’re going to euthanize him, and the very thought of that makes me emotional. Titan is VERY adoptable. He’s good with cats, dogs and kids. I have a gang of small children in my family and he’s good with them all, and the first 2 years of his life he lived with a cat and he’s been socialized with other dogs growing up as well.  if you want to adopt Titan, please email joansdogs@aol.com for application or email owner at michael@michaelletterlough.com

Molly and Maggie, two purebred English Labradors need a home - together or apart - Bayside Queens

Meet Molly and Maggie, two female English Labrador retrievers who are in need of a new loving home.
Ideally it would be great to keep them together but owner is willing to separate them for loving homes.
Molly is the black labrador who is 11.  Maggie is the yellow lab who is 7.  Both are good with kids and dogs.  Maggie bio:
Maggie is a 7 year old english labrador retriever.  Maggie loves going on walks, running around playing fetch, and just generally being around people. Her favorite toy is her green squeaky dumbbell.  Most people can't believe she is not a puppy since she is so active. Maggie would be happiest in a home with young children (or even teenagers) and active adults to keep her continually occupied. She is very inquisitive and overall just a very loving animal.
Molly bio:
Molly is good with dogs and children.  Molly is an 11 year old black labrador retriever and

Molly loves attention, being rubbed/petted, and groomed (both baths and being brushed). Her favorite toy is her pink squeaky ball (which you can see in the third picture). One of her favorite activities is to sit on the front porch and just watch cars and people passing by the house.   Both dogs are excellent with children.
If you are interested in adoption one or both of these lovely ladies, please email joansdogs@aol.com for an adoption application.  All applicants will be screened and a home check is required.

Adopt Dice, senior germand shepherd mix, good with dogs

I'm fostering the dog at my house which is between Coatesville and Parkesburg pa out side of West Chester. I just couldn't bare to put him in a rescue since he has been through so much already . I'm guessing he is around 9 or 10 of age, very good health. Teeth look good . He has shown no aggression towards people or children . But I have a male Jack that barks in his face he doesn't like to much. Or the only aggression that I have seen was towards my pigs. This is
The biggest reason why I'm looking for the perfect home for him. He is the most smart and loving dog I have had in a long time. I just want the perfect home for him. He deserves it. I have no info on this dog since owner had no family living by . Land owners were going to call SPCA . He is neutered but I'm working on the shots but my income is limited at the moment.....I can send more photos his name is Dice.
