Senior Black Lab dumped at kill shelter needs rescue or home now - Flomaton ALABAMA

My name is Mutt, and I'm an old boy. And nobody loves me because I'm old. My old daddy, the one I knew since I was pup dumped me here in this place. I will probably be killed, because nobody wants me. They all want fuzzy puppies. Nobody cares that my old bones need a warm pillow to lay on. Nobody wants my love and my trust anymore.
But I still have hope.
Please hear my prayer,
 and save my life!

URGENT - Sassy 9 yr old tortie cat living in cage in garage for months! - Newburgh NY

Poor Sassy has lived in a garage in a cage now for 7 months. She is very sweet and not sassy at all. She lived her whole nine years in a colony with other cats and was cared for by a slightly handicapped woman. She would let Sassy and the others in the house on cold days.  We've been caring for them, giving them food and shelter. One day we found Sassy having difficulty walking with one eye drooping. She never let us pet her when she was outside but once we got her to the vet and now in a cage she has become very affectionate and always crying for attention. She had a mild stroke and is now fully recovered but we could not put her back outside. We're hoping to find someone who can open their heart and home to this older girl and give her the real home she never had...even if you were only able to foster her. She will likely be a bit timid but will warm up once she gets to know you. Sassy is spayed, vaccinated and negative for FLV and FIV. Sassy LOVES other cats so if you can PLEASE find room in your home for just one more. PLEASE give this sweet girl a chance at a real home please call 845-634-0345...WE'RE DESPERATE. Calls are preferred. If unavailable please leave a message and your call will be returned.

Juno, a blind akita/heeler mix needs new foster or permanent home - Liverty MO

Contact Brenda at: 816-781-0947 oremail: A2thfaire2@aol.com

I am looking for a long term foster, or a permanent home for Juno, who's owner is homeless. She is with me, but it is getting increasing difficult to foster with my dog aggressive dog, and my husband who hates dogs. Come spring, I know he will force me to take her to the pound, if I haven't found someone.
She is scheduled to remove her left eye on Tuesday Feb. 26th, 2013.  I have a meet and greet for a foster home in Topeka, KS after she heals from the surgery.  This woman has a male Lab, and a female Shiba Inu.  I can't count that this would work, so I am trying to get a plan B.
Juno wants so badly to bond with me, but my dog won't let her get close, and she doesn't want him close to me either, so I have to keep them apart.  They are good in the yard together on potty breaks.  My dog has almost always allowed a foster dog to be in his yard and even wants to play, but inside the house is different.
Juno is about 4 yrs. old.  She went blind 1 1/2 years ago.  Her owner has moved her around quite a bit, and the last move was from FL to my house.  She doesn't like to ride in cars now. She is afraid the ride won't end.  They didn't have enough money to get motels, and he only had one seat in his truck.....so it was really hard on the both of them.  She weighs 65 lbs., but needs to lose some weight.  She is totally vetted, and even has a micro chip.  She is currently located in Liberty, MO

Candy and Baby victims of hoarding, need new homes now! West Palm Beach FL

andy and Baby have been living in an extreme hoarding environment in which they were never let out of the mobile home they were living in.  The owner is an 86 year old woman with mental issues.  Neighbors didn’t even know she had dogs because they have never seen them and this is a retirement community where people are home all the time.  About 3 months ago the woman was heard screaming and a neighbor went over and found her injured and she was sent to the hospital.  This is when it was realized what horrendous living conditions this woman was in.  No one was there to take care of the dogs and one was so mean that no one could get near it.  The dogs were left alone for a few days until the family from California could get here to Florida.  The dogs have been going to the bathroom for years in the house and I don’t have to tell you what it smells like in this place.

A  few months later when the woman was home recovering she got in her car and drove into town where she was in a car accident.  No one knew of the accident and the dogs were alone for 4 days before Destiny for Dogs got involved.  We went in and got the dogs (carefully) and got them to the vet.  The white Maltese is blind and is approximately 9 years old, male, blind from cataracts and had severe dental issues and a heart infection from the dental issues.  The Silky mix is approximately a 5 years old, female, and has the same dental disease and heart infection.  These angels had never been to the vet.
They have had their dental work completed, have received all their PetMeds to clear up their infections, received their first bath, and stayed with the vet for a month recovering and being taught how to play outside and not be afraid of people.  Believe it or not they are now healthy and give kisses to their foster parents.  They let you pick them up and we think this is an absolute miracle and now we would like someone adopt these angels and show them how real dogs are treated.
Please contact joann@destinyfordogs.com if you are interested in meeting these angels.

Ginger a 13 year old female jack russell terrier needs rescue Or new home! Denver NC

Hello. My name is Ginger and I am a 13 year, 7 month old, spayed female Jack
Russell (14 lbs) looking for a new home. My mom hates to let me go but she
is living out of state and cannot have a dog. She has asked us at ELAH to
help find me a home. You would never guess that I am a senior – I have a go
button that never stops. It took a bunch of pictures to get a few good ones
because I am so energetic.

I am current on my vaccines, I take monthly heartworm prevention and I am
heartworm negative. I have allergies but seem to do well on a special diet
(Hills prescription diet z/D) and an anti-histamine when needed
(hydrozyzine).

My bloodwork is pretty good – I have some mild elevations in my liver
enzymes since 2010 so we have to be careful what drugs I can take but I have
no symptoms of liver disease.

Please contact Mary Boucher by phone preferably at 828-466-0252 or via e-
mail at boucherm@gogowwv.com if you need more information or are interested
in adopting me.

Sincerely,

Adopt Brandy, an adorable 7 yr old 10 lb female chihuahua - West Palm Beach FL transport available to Northeast

Brandy has been through so much.  First being dumped by the only family she knew for 7 years then having mammary gland cancer.  This angel deserves to live happy rest of her life, filled with love.  Please open your heart and home to this very special "velcro" girl.
BACKGROUND: Brandy is a 7 year old chi girl and weighs about 10 lbs. She is now healthy after DFD spent $1100 to have mammary gland surgery and have her completely vetted (Spayed, shots, dental including 4 teeth pulled).
Brandy is in boarding at a wonderful facility. However she really deserves a loving foster or forever home. Brandy loves to cuddle and stay right next to you. She gets along great with kitties, large & small dogs, housebroken and listens well. Brandy does bark when she is excited or wants attention. Brandy's owner moved in with her daughter who wouldn't allow Brandy to stay. They never took her to a vet. When we asked for the medical the daughter replied, "Never took her to the vet, don't care about her, take her to the shelter if you don't want her!" WOW! Now that is cold after Brandy provided unconditional love to her owner for seven years. Please open your home and heart to this sweet & loving girl.

Then, to make it worse, her owners got a divorce and moved away, leaving Sandee behind, all alone, in a pen. This was a blessing in disguise, however, because now Sandee has a chance at a real home. A home that she deserves, where she can have a loving hand pet her and a warm bed to sleep at night. Sandee is the sweetest, most loving, girl who only wants to be with you and make you happy. URGENT! Champ cute little older chihuahua mix found wandering in Philadelphia

This cute little guy is Champ....he was found wandering the streets of Philadelphia. Champ appears to have bilateral cataracts which seem to be impairing his vision a bit.....please take a look at him....he looks like a sweet little guy whose had a rough life......
 CHAMP—URGENT! POSSIBLY GOING BLIND!
Champ (A19063029) is an adorable, spunky 5-10 year old Chihuahua mix who was picked up off the streets by himself. He is physically in pretty good shape, but is a little dirty just from being outside. Champ appears to have bilateral cataracts which seem to be impairing his vision a bit, making it hard for him to see things like walls and ledges, though he can navigate quite well. Our vets are recommending bloodwork for him to make sure everything else is okay. Champ’s limitations don’t hold him back, and he still gets very excited to go out for a walk or get carried around! Twice abandoned Ellie senior hound needs rescue or home now - Elizabethtown NC

LOCATION: Elizabethtown, NC 28337
CONTACT: Silvia 910-876-0539
SECONDARY CONTACT:Debbie 339-832-0806
It is with a lot of tears, a very sad heart and a bit of disillusionment, A Shelter Friend must tell you about a sweet 10yr old hound named ELLIE.  You may remember Ellie as she was in our shelter at the end of October. Her time was nearly up and she was about to be put down because the shelter was very full when a miracle happened.  We got a call all the way from California. Although a challenge, it is not impossible for a dog to get to California from North Carolina.

The woman spoke about a loving warm home for her to spend, whatever time may be remaining for this sweet gal. We were elated at the thought of this old discarded hunting hound to spend her finals years in sunny California was a dream come true for us and we knew for her also. We were so happy that we could have done cartwheels.

The adopter sounded so sincere that we were sure that she would find a way even if it was a flight. We pulled her and placed her at the vet for boarding, spayed her and heart worm tested her. To our amazement she was Heartworm Negative. For more than 3 month this sweet old gal has been waiting, waiting for her home, waiting for her new mommy and waiting to get out of the Small kennel at the Vet.
During this time Several A Shelter Friend volunteers have called her as well as the vet. We were promised a credit card. we were told the check was in the mail yet nothing came, no check, no payment of any kind. Then today a very kind transporter said that he was driving to take Ellie to her new home in California.  We asked him if he had been paid and he stated that he went on trust as well.  A Shelter Friend told him about our experience and suggested that he may want to get the money in advance otherwise he may never see it.

We are so upset. Upset that this poor old sweet hound has been lied to.  Upset that she has been stuck in a crate for 3 months. Upset that we are left with a $1200 bill, money that could help the next dog in need, the next animal hit by car, the next shot dog, the next dog needing a few days boarding to get to his or her new home.  We are upset that our trust was betrayed. We are upset that Ellie's trust was betrayed. We are upset that another dog may loose her chance because we just won't believe the person on the other end of the phone. THIS IS SO WRONG! Some people just don't get it.

Anyone who may be able to help please do so on our website or call us at 910-876-0539 or 339 832-0806 http://www.ashelterfriend.org/

Shane needs new foster or adoptive home - Huntington NY

NJ-PA-DE-CT-NY-SURROUND AREAS- FOSTER/FUREVER HOME NEEDED- PROFESSIONAL TRAINING PROVIDED FOR FREE!! As a foster, all expenses will be paid! I KNOW there is someone in one of these states that can take Shane and give him the love he needs!!...
Folks, we are still so desperately searching for a home for Shane. His time at the place he is staying will soon end. He is not getting along with one of the two dogs he was living with and he hates being crated. We are begging all of you to please send out an S.O.S. to your Facebook friends and email contacts. As a foster, all expenses related to Shane's care will be paid by LAP, including a professional trainer coming to the house to aide with the transition. If you cannot take Shane in but would like to sponsor him, you may use our DONATE button on this page or send a check made payable to League for Animal Protection, earmark it FOR SHANE, and mail to PO Box 390, Huntington, NY 11743.
Shane is a Lab/Pointer mix, about 6 years old, and was recently moved into a foster home because he was extremely stressed in the confines of the shelter kennel. Unfortunately, he and one of the two dogs he is currently living with are not getting along. Shane would do best in a home with either a retired person, or someone who works from home, who can spend a lot of time with him. His current foster says he wants nothing but to hang with his human on the couch and get belly rubs, love and attention. We need to find another foster or adopter for him ASAP. All expenses related to his fostering to be paid by LAP. He is fully vetted and housebroken. Please call League for Animal Protection of Huntington at 631-757-9373 or email dogs@LAPHuntington.org to learn more about Shane.

Philly has been at the shelter in PA over a year! needs home!

Here are pics of me!http://www.flickr.com/photos/75879716@N07/sets/72157632078661135/

Well hello there! My name is Philly (A16040633) and like my name I’m a resident in the city of brotherly love. Technically I’m in the city’s shelter but I’m making the best of my time here. I get meals and attention from the volunteers which is nice. I’m a 5-10 year old male shepherd mix weighing about 82 pounds. While not in my kennel you can find me walking nicely outside or playing with toys! I liked my toys so much that I didn’t want to give them up. Yes, I do need to learn to share. Did I tell you that I know “sit” and “paw?” Yup! I do! If I can learn those commands just think of what else you could teach me!

I was good with all my body handling tests and haven’t shown any food issues. I met some cats here and wasn’t too interested in them but please let the staff know if you have cats at home. I also met dogs here and I feel like I’d do best with a calm female. If you have any resident dogs at home please bring them to meet me. If I sound like a good fit for your family come on down and ask for Philly!

This dog is available at the Pennsylvania SPCA located at 350 E. Erie Avenue Philadelphia, PA 19134. Adoption Center hours are 1PM-8PM Monday through Friday and 10AM-5PM Saturday & Sunday.

If you are interested in learning more about a dog contact us atPSPCAErie@yahoo.com.

You may also contact the shelter directly. However, due to high call/email volume, you may experience a delay in response. Call the shelter at 215-426-6304 ext 244 or email adoptions@pspca.org

URGENT! ORANGE tabby female cat age 10 needs home or rescue owner moving overseas NYC

Bella was rescued from a street two years ago. She was in a terrible state, looking abandoned, lost, and hungry. At first, I fed her and let her go, but she was back at my door two days later. It took a long time for her to become a relaxed, loving kitty again, the kitty she is now - I think she'd been through a lot while living on the streets all by herself. Bella is about 10yo - according to the vet - and is a quiet cat who loves to fall asleep by my side when I watch TV or read. She is micro-chipped (by me) and all of her vaccinations are up to date.
Unfortunately, I will be leaving the country mid-March and I can't take Bella with me. I am simply not wealthy enough to rent an apartment at where I am going in order to keep her - and the house shares usually don't allow pets. Bella will have an intake appointment at ASPCA in about a week or two, but I am quite skeptical they will take her in. They have kindly agreed to schedule an appointment for her, but I have already been told that "her age is a reason for concern," which pretty much means that I will likely hear: "Sorry, but no" at the end.
I will have to put Bella to sleep if I don't find a new home for her in the next six weeks. I have asked at a few local shelters, but was told that she is too old and hence "un-adoptable," for them to take her in. But, she is too sweet to give up on!
Dear cat lovers - PLEASE HELP!!

Magdalena.  please email at magdalenanegron@hotmail.com

BUTLER IS OLD WITH BEGINNING SIGNS OF VISION AND HEARING PROBLEMS  BUT IS OTHERWISE
HEALTHY AND HAPPY-GO LUCKY, ACCORDING TO HIS DISTRESSED OWNER.

IF YOU HAVE ROOM IN YOUR HEART AND YOUR HOME TO ALLOW THIS SWEET OLDER BOY TO LIVE
OUT THE REST OF HIS LIFE THERE, PLEASE CONTACT HARRIET KOSS OF DALMATIAN ADOPTION,INC.
SO WE CAN HELP HIS FAMILY TO SAVE BUTLER.
