Senior dogs available for adoption or rescue - GA

Below is a list of senior dogs that are currently with a rescue but can move to other rescues if anyone has a place for them.  Adoptions are way down and drop offs are way up so we could use some breathing room. Jonas  (above) male, choc lab, senior, 55lbs. 8 yrs.   He is fully vetted.  He was heart worm positive but has been on an experiment trial and has now tested neg. He is crate and leash trained and house trained.  He gets on with other dogs, loves people and is good with kids.  Not sure on cats.   He is a lay around and sleep fellow but he does like to ride.  He does like to be outside in the yard but does not do much playing with the other dogs.

Lady M   female, choc lab, senior, 65lbs.  age approx. 11. She is fully vetted, hw neg. She is crate and leash trained and house trained.  She gets on with other dogs, loves people and is good with kids.  Does not seem to notice the cats.  She is a lay around and sleep type but he does like to ride.  She does like to be outside in the yard but only to lay in the sun a bit.  

 Lacy  (above) female, border collie mix, senior, 55lbs. age 9.  She is fully vetted, hw neg. She is crate and leash trained and house trained.  She is ok around other dogs but does not want to be social.   She is a lay around and sleep type.  She has no interest in outside or playing with other dogs.   Not sure on cats or kids. She can be shy and act afraid when meeting new people.

 Mango  (above) female, boxer mix, senior, 50lbs. age 10.  She is fully vetted, hw neg.    She is crate and leash trained and house trained.  She gets on with other dogs, loves people and is good with kids.  Not sure on cats.   She is a lay around and sleep type but does like to be outside in the yard but does not do much playing with the other dogs.  She is totally devoted to her person and wants to be with you at all times.  She likes to sleep near you but not in the bed.

Hondo   (above) male, lab, senior, 55lbs.  age 10.  He is fully vetted,  hw neg. He is crate and leash trained and house trained.  He gets on with other dogs, loves people and is good with kids.  Does not seem to  notice the cats.   He is a lay around and sleep fellow but he does like to ride.  He does like to be outside in the yard but does not do much playing with the other dogs.   He loves to sleep under your feet and you can not move without him.   He can be protective when new people come around but he warms to them quickly.  

Cola   female, choc lab, senior, 45lbs. age 14.   She is fully vetted, hw neg. She is crate and leash trained and house trained but does have some issues with her bladder so she does leak.   She gets on with other dogs, loves people and is good with kids.  She ignores the cats.  She is the lazy,old dog. She will go outside to potty but wants to come right back in and go back to sleep. 

Snoopy  (above)  male, rat terrier, senior, 10lbs. age 9  He is fully vetted,hw neg.  He is crate and leash trained and house trained.  He gets on with other dogs, loves people and is good with kids.  He is fine with cats.   He is a house baby.  He will go out to potty but comes back  in as quick as he can.  He is not a cuddle me fellow.   He wants to be near you but not held or pampered.

Turtle (above)    female, bully mix, senior, 55lbs. age approx. 10.  She is fully vetted but is hw positive. She is crate and leash trained and house trained.  She gets on with other dogs, loves people and is good with kids.  She is fine with cats.  He is a lay around and sleep type, does like to be outside in the yard but does not do much playing with the other dogs.  She is pretty much a coach potato.


Hut   female, beagle mix, senior, 25lbs.  age 13.  She is fully vetted, hw neg.  She is crate, leash and house trained.  She gets on with other dogs, cats and kids.  She is a bit slow but like to be outside.    She likes to sleep mostly but does like to be petted and pampered.

Joe, PB Boxer (above) This is Joe Boxer.  He is a senior, male, PB Boxer.  He was pulled from Ac but his ride did not work out.  He is looking for a rescue.  He is, i would guess, around 6yrs.   His tail and ears are not docked.  He is a sweet, love me, right up under you, type guy.  He will sit forever with you if you  just pet him.  From the looks of him,  he did not have a very good original home life. He is a bit dominate with some dogs but not with others.  I am not sure what he does not like about a certain dog but some he just hates at first sight.  I have had no problems with him and cats, he loves people and is ok with calm kids.   The only issue i have  had is, he really dislikes the large black dogs.  He hates the new mastiff mix, he is iffy with the lab and the border collie mix, both black.  He has not gotten into any fights but i am very careful.  I am not sure he would fight but i take no chances.  The ac said he was dog aggressive but it seem to be only large black dogs he does not like.  I have him in the play yard with a chi mix and in the house loose with several other dogs and no problems.   He likes to sleep with yo but if you don't let him in the bed, he will sleep at the head of the bed on the floor.  He is crate, leash and house trained.   He is vetted but is heart worm positive. And, YES, i will be particular with his new home or rescue. Joe  has had enough bad/uncaring in his life, he needs the be babies for the rest of his life.  He would be very happy as the only child and spoiled rotten
