This is Venus. He was abandoned at the vet, then taken to Port
Jervis Humane Society. Venus has been at the shelter for 3 months. He is very
sad because he has been passed by many times, maybe because of the gray on his
face? He wags his tail when potential adopters walk by, in hopes they will stop
at his kennel and say “That’s the one I want!” but so far, that has not
happened. He is very active for an 8 year old lab and very sweet. No cats please
but good with other dogs and people. He weighs about 60 lbs, in good health and
is neutered. He knows “sit”, is housetrained and walks well on a leash.
He has a winning personality and just wants to go to his
forever home. Can someone please take him into rescue and help him find a
terrific human companion?

keep trying to get through as they are very busy. Hours are Tuesday-Saturday, 10
AM-4:30 PM, Sunday 1-3 PM, closed on Mondays.
