Victim of Severe Abuse, male rottie needs help! PA

This is Sparrow, whom I have sent before, he came to the shelter this way. Looks like an abuse case, his head is caved in on the one side, and as you can see he

is missing an eye. He had two holds on him, but the one didn't work out, because

when they brought their dog to meet him, the dog approached him from his blind

side, and I guess he snapped at it. He would probably be best as an only pet

because of this. Who can blame him for being nervous being approached from that

side, God only knows what happened to him. I have had him out, he appears to be

full rotty, he is big, and strong, but walks fairly well on a leash. I don't

think he cares much for other dogs. I think he just has problems only seeing

from the one side. He would be a great only pet for someone. He certainly needs

the love. He likes his biscuits. Hope someone out there falls in love with him,

despite his appearance. He is at the Griffin Pond Shelter. I think he is fairly

young. Thanks for all the help. Martin

Adopt Sandy and Sassy two female cocker spaniels need urgent foster!

SANDY AND SASSY STILL NEED URGENT FOSTER! PLEASE HELP!

CONTACT IS: dogdays1@verizon.net
Sandy and Sassy were rescued from a Staten Island Animal Shelter in December of 2011.
Their owner died and the wonderful family through them there knowing it was a kill shelter.
We had 24-48 hours to get them out and they are now in foster. The girls are 10 years old, spayed, up to date with shots, no health issues and need a home of their own. Sandy is not adjusting well to the foster's other dogs and she would do better either alone or just with Sassy. Sandy wants attention and Sassy is very meek and shy at first but warms up soon enough. They are still in good health and love to go for walks. Is there anyone who can give them a forever home?

Foster Rescue or ADOPT Penny 12 year old female yellow lab in PA

Penny is a very sweet 12 year old female yellow labrador whose owner passed away. She needs a rescue or a foster home OR preferably a new loving home.  Penny is on daily arthritis supplements and also requires a monthly Adequan injection ($36.00/mo.). She will need a home home with no stairs. Her owner passed away in January, and if her caretakers do not find her a home "soon", they will euthanize her. We definitely do NOT want this to happen as she's a wonderful old girl, good with other dogs but no young kids due to her age and arthritis.  Please email Bright59@msn.com

Paraplegic Dog Needs Help For a Second Chance!

Surrendered to the shelter as a stray on February 26th, 4 year old Robert had a ruptured disc, could not walk on his own and was in constant pain. With lacerations on his head and legs, it was presumed that he was hit by a car. In the shelter Robert waited four days, with no treatment. On February 29th, he was scheduled for euthanasia, and Pets Alive, an internationally recognized no kill organization, rescued him. Now he is recovering from the surgery that might help him walk again.

Adopt Lolly, cute senior schnauzer owner died

Lolly is a 9 year old, 20-lb Schnauzer mix whose elderly owner recently passed away and no one in the family is able to take her in and give her a new home. According to the late owner's son-in-law, Lolly is housetrained, excellent with kids, but does not like most other dogs. She is current on all vaccinations and her complete medical history can be provided by Evergreen Animal Hospital. She is used to eating dog food only (Science Diet).

Jake, a Gorgeous Plotthound for adoption!

Meet Jake!  Jake came from a rescue in Tennessee and is now in Westchester, NY.  This 5+ year old plotthound is just beautiful and laid back!    He has never really had a real home until his foster home where he lives with two other male large breed dogs.  Jake was dumped into a kill shelter by his owner because "he would not hunt".
He also was "punished" by not being fed.  No longer skin and bones, Jake is ready to find his new family.  He is very sweet but he IS a hunting dog and for this reason, a house with a yard and lots of exercise would be the best fit for him.  If you would like to adopt Jake, please email joansdogs@aol.com for an application.  All applicants will be screened and a home check is required.

Not even a year ago a very special little girl was born. Her name is Annabelle (on the left) and she was born without eyes. Even through Annabelle can't see, she has never known the benefit of sight but has learned to SEE WITH HER HEART! And as such, she sees more than we will even begin to know or understand! This sweet girl has heart unparalled and has touched everyone that she has met. She has shown everyone that, although it might be scarey for her when confronted with something new and unknown, she does not turn away but faces each challenge head on!

Both Sugar and Annabelle are BEAUTIFUL and sweet girls. They get along with everyone and everything! Their family lost their home and could not take Sugar and Annabelle with them. And, now I need a home that will love and care for both of these beautiful girls like they deserve to be.

Sugar is a beautiful border collie mix and is eight years old. Annabelle is eleven months old. Both have been spayed and are up to date on vaccines. Sugar is in the process of being treated for heartworm and this expense will be covered by me as her rescue/sponsor through completion
TKDIAMOND@AOL.COM is the contact for both dogs.
they really do need a home together!  someone out there
can make that happen!!  (the blind little puppy is on the left, mom is at the top.)

11 year old cairn terrier needs a home! adorable adoptable in NJ

JT: Cairn Terrier, Dog; Rockaway, NJJT is 11 years old Cairn Terrier. He acts much younger than his age and has many happy years left to be someone's new best friend!

JT's favorite past times include going for car rides (he'll jump right in and take his place next to you to be the best co-pilot ever), going for long walks and snuggling on the couch.
The list of JT's great qualities is long. Highlights include: 100% housebroken (he will even let you know when he has to go out by barking or whining). He loves to sleep on the foot of your bed (and he doesn't even snore!) He is great with cats (he wants to play but respects them when they object) and he has no issues with food.
Typical of the breed, even at 11 years old, JT will need a strong leader who sets boundaries and rules for him and not let him get away with things!

UPDATE - DOG IS BEING RESCUED!! $200 sponsor money to rescue for "DOG" - chained 10 yr old dog

I saw Dog (yes that;'s his name, DeeOHgee) out back when I went into a home
to remove some Chi's and Rat Terriers last Friday. Dog is very sweet and friendly
and crinkles his ears up in that gentle, submissive way when one approaches
(see pics). He has not had an easy life as you can see in the pics. Never been
inside, no matter how cold the winter is or hot the summer gets. Dog greeted me
in a happy and low-key, friendly manner. He is skinny and when I was there, he
had no water. She said "he knocks it over" and I went thru the usual routine
of keeping water/shelter available 24/7. But this older fella is a real gentleman
and deserves to live out his last years in comfort, not on the chain.  I would guess he
weighs maybe 30 ? lbs. PLEASE help 10 Y.O. Dog get off the chain!
DOG has a rescue but no place to go. $200 sponsor money available!
please email pawswv26807@yahoo.com
if you can rescue DOG!!
