Rudy 10 year old daschund needs a home!!

Contact: toratr16@yahoo.com

Meet RUDY, a 10 year old black and tan Dachshund that I rescued from the shelter in New York City, where he was found wandering as a stray! Can you imagine his fear? How he even survived in a big, dangerous city is just unbelievable to me.
Here's what we DO know, at this point:
He is about 10 years old (if not older). He is in good health. He had a skin condition when he first came in, that has improved with good care and food (and the nice grooming Club Member LINDA gave him, as a "welcome to safety" present!). He LOVES children, ok with other dogs and with cats. He works hard to improve his house-training skills, but needs regular walks and monitoring, to help him to improve here. Therefore, it would be best for someone to adopt him that would be HOME more than not, to get him on a regular schedule that he can rely on. He LOVES to eat (what Dachshund doesn't?), and enjoys his meals!
He loves to sleep IN YOUR BED! Snuggle-bug boy. Wears a sweater well, as you can see by attached photos.
Folks, he has fostered with kind members of our Club for the past few months.
He has been moved from one wonderful home to the next, through no fault of his own, but due to changing circumstances of each foster family. I WANT SOMEONE TO LOVE HIM FOREVER! PLEASE-can you help me find a family for RUDY?
He just wants someone to love him....
His follow up check-up will be taken care of financially.
I don't want to see him shuffled around again. He MUST find a new home no later than January 3rd!~
Please help, if you can! We can arrange a "meet and greet" with anyone at any time!
Thanks for considering Rudy!
Kim

This is Smokey, 10 year old minature, neutered male poodle, looking for his forever home. Great dog! Rescued from an elderly lady moving into a nursing home who was going to drop him off at the pound. Wonderful with single women, older children, but NOT with young children/toddlers. He seems to not like sudden movements. He spends most of his days in his bed, on the couch or at the foot of your bed, and when he needs to go out, he goes to the door to let you know! He has all his tags & vet records. please contact cindy at clcrawley@starpower.net for more information on adopting Smokey.

Adopt Kiwi, very nice female cocker spaniel age 8

Kiwi was found as a stray in early December. She's a older gal (8+ yo) who came in very matted and with a cherry eye as well. She's pretty petite for a Cocker and ways about 16lbs. She's very friendly, affectionate, and tolerant. She's quiet, laidback, and looking for a place to rest her weary head in peace. Kiwi is very dog friendly as well. I've gone ahead and attached a couple of quick photo's taken after her eval. Kiwi is in Jersey City at Liberty Humane Society. email: SNDAWSON924@GMAIL.COM

Adopt Charlotte, 10 year old sharpei mix very friendly dog

Charlotte is the nicest dog you would ever want to meet. Walk by her run and she will sit up and beg. Charlotte was found outside trying to fend for herself but she's so gentle and loving, she must have had a family who really loved her. Charlotte is 10 years old and loves long walks and watching TV. She is OK with most dogs and well-behaved children.
if you are interested in Charlotte, please email mtas77@verizon. net or call 973-744-8600. Montclair Township Animal Shelter.

Adopt Mistletoe, senior pit bull waits a year for a new home after owner neglect

When her aging owner was developing Alzheimer's disease, his dog became the victim of his health problem. The sad situation resulted in Mistletoe being left unattended without food or water for long periods of time. At one point, her owner put the devoted dog in a room by herself. When the situation was reported, authorities entered the premises and took the homeowner out for examination, care and hospitalization. A day later, authorities returned to the home and discovered the emaciated dog waiting in the back room for an owner who would never return. The very sweet but skeletal pit bull was brought to the Society's Tinton Falls facility. Besides her neglected state, she was found to have an ear infection, a swelling on the side of her face, lacerations to the face, cellulitis ... and a broken heart. She arrived on Dec. 23, 2009 -- almost one year ago -- and so she has been named Mistletoe. All of her physical ailments have been corrected and her face is always in the food bowl! We are not showing you her before photos. this is what she looks like now. Her personality shows a joy for life that is outstanding! It is our hope that Santa will have a special gift for her this year. File TF-58410-SF (Tinton Falls) Contact us at 732-922-0100 if interested in giving Mistletoe her home. He is affectionate and enjoys interacting with people.
If you can give this cute little guy the second chance he deserves, please stop by the Bergen County Animal Shelter to meet him. Adopt Ceasar, female german shepherd/hound mix LONGTIME shelter resident

Update: Ceasar is now with Eleventh Hour Resuce in NJ! She is a lovely dog totally housetrained, good with kids and ok with dogs. Please email eleventhhrrescue@aol.com for adoption information. We're not sure how such a pretty girl got the name Ceasar, but she wears it well. She is now around 8 years old and has never known any other home than the shelter. How much longer does this sweet girl have to wait? This long time resident is such a love bug that just wants a home of her own. She loves the attention of the other dogs and the volunteers and will follow you around looking for any attention she can get! She is so well natured that she has full run of the shelter during the day. She is a great medium size dog that is perfect for any family!

Adopt Mattie, senior treeing walker coonhound, longtime shelter resident

Mattie is yet another long time resident that has been overlooked and under appreciated. Mattie is about 8 years old now and is still waiting for her forever home. She is well behaved and thus has free run of one of the adoption buildings. She is clean and never causes problems. She is great with the other dogs and will follow the shelter staff while they go about their chores. She is not demanding of affection but does enjoy the company of people and other dogs. Please consider giving Mattie the dignity of a home...she is most deserving. Email southsidespcadogs@yahoo.com and bring MATTIE home for the holidays!

Adopt Asia, 10 year old golden retriever mix.

Sweet Asia is looking for a place to call home. She is a gorgeous 10 year young Golden mix that adores attention and would make a wonderful companion. She was transfered from another organization that could not find a forever home for Asia. We just know there is a kind hearted person out there just waiting to rescue Asia. Please consider adopting this sweet girl and giving her the home she deserves. She has been in a foster home and was housebroken. If interested in getting more information please email southsidespcadogs@yahoo.com. Bring ASIA home for the holidays!

Adopt Pappy, senior fox terrier mix adorable small dog

Pappy is a sweetheart of a dog with such a wonderful spirit. He was left at an euthanizing animal control by his owner...abandonded and sentenced to die just because he had a skin allergy. He is at least 10 years old and may not have a lot of years left, but this is one sweet boy! We couldn't leave him behind. Do you have room in your heart and home for this sweet boy? He is very affectionate, gentle and appreciative! Please email southsidespcadogs@yahoo.com for more information....you won't be sorry!

Adopt Gussie, 8 year old collie/shepherd never had a real home

Gussie came to our shelter as a puppy and was named Asparagus. She was adopted to a family as a puppy....sadly it would not be her happy ending. The family left her in the backyard, alone and isolated for a year. They brought her back a year later...complaining that she was shy and fearful. Gee, I wonder why? We made a promise to "Gussie" that she would never be neglected again. She has been at the shelter for the last 8 years. Although Gussie is safe and cared for, we think she now deserves a second chance at family life. We want her to know that there are loving people that will let her be a part of their family. Gussie is still a little reserved until she knows you, then she'll flop to the ground for belly rubs (she is a sucker for a belly rub!). Because of her past, we would prefer she be adopted to a home with another dog so that she feels comforted. Are you the one to finally save Gussie? email info@southsidespca.org. Gussie is a LONG TIME resident of our Virginia shelter and never had a real home. bring her home for the holidays!!

Adopt Holly, senior beagle mix, gorgeous coat, LONG TIME shelter resident

Holly is a long time resident that has never had a chance at home life. She came to the shelter leery of people and quickly accepted her kennel mates as her pack. She is bonded with the other dogs at the shelter and trusts the kennel workers. She is still very unsure of strangers. We can only imagine what her past life was like. Her only chance at a home would be a patient person willing to help her overcome her fears and help her learn to trust. The good news is she is food motivated (what Beagle isn't!). We do not anticipate this to be an easy transformation, and it would take a lot of dedication and work. She is eligible for our A.D.O.P.T. program (adult dogs offered professional training) where she could live with a dog trainer for up to two weeks to give a potential adopter the tools to help her acclimation to home life. If you are that patient person that can teach Holly to trust people again and have a resident dog, please give Holly a home for the holidays! email info@southsidiespca.org. Holly is a long time resident at this Virginia shelter.

Adopt Sophie, beautiful shelter, age 7+, long time shelter resdient

Sophie is a beautiful girl that is between 7-8 years and has lived at the shelter for too many years. She is sweet and devoted to the shelter staff but takes a little bit to warm up to strangers...only because the shelter doesn't have lots of visitors. She is eligible for training through our A.D.O.P.T. program (adult dogs offered professional training) where she would live in the home of a professional dog trainer and learn the basics of home life and crate training. This sweet girl is great with all the other dogs at the shelter and never causes trouble. She would make a great companion for someone willing to give her a chance. You can email southsidespcadogs@yahoo.com for more information on adoption or our A.D.O.P.T. program. Sophie is a long time resident of this Virginia shelter. bring her home for the holidays!

Adopt Rainey, senior female bloodhound mix long time shelter resident

Rainey is a gorgeous thick bodied girl that was abandoned at the shelter, in the middle of the night, in a driving rain storm in 2006. The trauma of being left alone under those conditions took it's toll on her. She is still waiting to find someone to bond with. She is a sweet and gentle girl that is great with other dogs. She is a bit distrustful of people (can you blame her?), but if you spend just a few minutes getting to know her, then she really starts to open up. This sweet girl is a diamond in the ruff....anyone willing to give her a chance will be duly rewarded! Rainey is eligible for our A.D.O.P.T. program where she can live with professional dog trainer prior to adoption so that she can learn the basics of home life and crate training. Please email southsidespcadogs@yahoo.com to learn how you can save this most deserving girl!

Adopt Ruthie, treeing walker coonhound, age 9, long time shelter resident

Ruthie is a slim bodied, sweet natured girl that has been a resident of the shelter for many years. She is about 9 years old now and has lived her whole life with other dogs. She is very dedicated to the shelter staff and would make a loving and fun addition to any home. Ruthie may be 9 years old but she is still full of fun and play! Anyone willing to spend a little time with Ruthie will come to see her gentle, loving personality. If you're looking to rescue a most deserving girl, Ruthie is your girl! Ruthie is eligible for our A.D.O.P.T. program (adult dogs offered professional training) where she can spend up to two weeks in the home of a professional trainer prior to adoption. She would learn the basics of home life, crate training housebreaking and basic obedience. Questions?: Email southsidespcadogs@yahoo.com and give Ruthie a home for the holidays!

Adopt P.K. - a 10 year old shepherd, 8 years living at a shelter in VA!!

P.K. is STILL at the shelter....EIGHT YEARS - that's a long time to live in a shelter. He is about 10 years old, and enjoys the daily life here, but would love to finally have a home of his own. He gets along with everyone but does lack confidence. He needs someone to give him a chance and to show him what life outside of a shelter is like. P.K. is eligible for our A.D.O.P.T. program (adult dogs offered professional training) where we send long time residents to live in the home of a professional dog trainer for up to 2 weeks. There they learn the basics of home life, crate training and general acclimation to life out of a shelter. This is one of our most successful programs and it is free to all approved adopters of long time residents. If you have a place in your heart to save a most deserving dog, consider P.K. Questions?: email southsidespcadogs@yahoo.com. P.K. would really like a home for the holidays!!

Adopt SAMMY, senior spitz/chow mix age 10 needs home

Sammy is a very pretty, fluffy lady around 33 lbs who is house trained, leash trained, and good with other dogs and cats. She was surrendered to the shelter by her owners due to allergies; they stated she is 10 years old, but she does not show her age. Sammy has seizures; and she has also exhibited some compulsive tail chasing and food issues. Shelter life is very stressful and intensifying her anxiety. These types of behavior issues are generally easily resolved once in a secure and loving home. Because of Sammy's age and medical needs, her chances of being adopted from the shelter are very slight. We need your help to find her a safe and loving home with an owner who has endless love to give to our fluffy friend. Liberty Humane Society. please contact NDawson03@aol.com for more information about Sammy. http://www.petfinder.com/petdetail/17815875?rvp=1 this is her petfinder.com link.

Adopt Daisy, adorable 10 year old female jack russell

Meet Daisy! This active senior girl (~10 years) entered the Liberty Humane Society as a stray on 10/6/2010. The first day she was a timid little pooch but after one day of hanging out in the office she achieved total diva status! She quickly became attached to those around her and showered everyone with affection. Once she settled into the office though, she became a nipper whenever anyone would attempt to leave her alone. Otherwise she never nips anyone. It seems that Daisy has some separation anxiety issues -- She quickly bonds to those in her life and just hates to see them go!
Daisy is a adorable, bundle of energy who doesn't let her age slow her down. This sassy Jack Russel loves everyone she meets. Unfortunatley she's quite wound up after being kenneled for many months and is hoping to find a place where she can spread her proverbial wings soon!
Daisy appears to be in great health and shows no signs of any medical issues. She could benefit from gaining a few pounds. She's UTD on her basic vaccinations, de-wormed, and appears housebroken. CONTACT: SNDAWSON924@GMAIL.COM. rescue help welcome!
