Charlie is approx. a 10 year old dog that we saved from Georgia back in April 2008! We thought he would not have long to live after our vet diagnosed him with cancer, but Charlie has proven everyone wrong. He is still alive, doing well, and bouncing around like a puppy. He loves to be outside and to go for long walks and car rides. We think he would be fine with other senior dogs preferring the ladies, but maybe he would be best as an only dog or maybe one of a pair. He is happy and is in good enough condition to be moved to a sanctuary type of home who understands this is a not going to be a long commitment but is a commitment to give a good dog the quality of life he deserves for the time he has left. We all have younger dogs and we are not the best choice to foster Charlie. He was living with a shelter volunteer who has four dogs and Charlie gets nervous he will be knocked down by the younger dogs and is clearly not as happy as he would be being around another dog who is older like him and wants to do the things he wants to do at the pace he can do them. He is currently at the Trumbull Canine Shelter, 324 Church Hill Road, Trumbull, CT, (203) 452-5088. ACO, Lynn Dellabianca can be contacted at ldellabianca@trumbull-ct.org and/or by contacting Virginia Silano, President of FOBAS, Inc. at: VMARCONI@aol.com*Charlie is up-to-date with routine shots and spayed/neutered.
