Adopt Bailey, senior black labrador retriever mix

Meet Bailey, a male black lab mix! This sweet guy has had a rough life. Picked up wandering the streets of Brooklyn, he was sick and emaciated. When we took him from a NYC shelter, he had an upper respiratory infection that developed into double pneumonia. After many weeks of medical care, he is ready for his forever home. Bailey is a senior gentleman who has proven that he has a will to live and a zest for life. His sight and hearing are somewhat compromised but, with that amazing lab nose, he gets around just fine. And his amazing lab personality is coming through more and more each day. His tail wags constantly and he leans against your leg and just wants to be with his human. He has gained 10 lbs. and is emerging from the black hole that was his life into being ever so grateful for the smallest bit of affection or kindness shown him. He will need leash training (being taken for walks was certainly not part of his background). A fenced-in yard is a must as is love and companionship. He is fine with other dogs and cats. He needs a calm, stable home; an older household would be ideal with easy access to the fenced yard. He has shown us that even in the midst of illness and adversity, he is willing to trust people. We would like him to experience unconditional love and commitment from, perhaps another senior home looking for a loyal devoted companion. Please be the person that can give him a safe haven for his golden years. Contact: Labrador Retriever Rescue-CT, Inc, Bridgewater, CT - 860-354-9098 - labrescuect@gmail.com
